Welcome to The Mill Inn Golf Society Home Page
The Mill Inn Golf Society was originally formed in 2010 under the name of Ho'ton Heating Golf Society. Our membership has numbered between 13 to 20 members during the 5 years of the Society. The handicaps of our members range from 7 up to 26.
Welcome to The Mill Golf Society Homepage. We as a society play 6 different courses each season from April to September with the September event consisting of an overnight stay and 2 rounds of golf. We run a league table for the Society Championship which consists of a players best THREE scores from April till the Saturday of the venues plus the Sunday MUST count towards the final score. We also run a singles knockout which consists of 4 leagues where members compete against each other and the top player of each league enters into a knockout stage with the final played on the Sunday of the last weekend.
The payments of the Society is £20.00 a month from January to September each year. This contributes to a subsidy for each venue played. Also £3.00 of the subs goes towards the prize money for the venue played (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) also £2.00 of the subs going towards any 2's for that venue only.
Monthly winners receive an award with the overall winner receiving the Trevor Harding Trophy. The winner of the singles knockout competition also receives a trophy. All monthly awards and trophies are presented to winners on our annual Presentaion Night which takes place at The Mill in Houghton.
TREVOR HARDING Trophy
The Society Championship trophy was named after a close friend who was going to join the very first year of the Society but sadly died suddenly before the Society got underway. The members unanimously decided to name the trophy in his honour.
